Originally from Miami, Florida, I moved to New York City after graduating from Mount Holyoke
College with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies. Since I moved to NYC I have been involved in various organizations such as New York Winter
Wishes, Fuzzy Butts Animal Rescue, and the Hoboken Homeless Shelter. I am
also the Communications Coordinator of my class board as well as the Young
Alumnae Event Coordinator for my alma mater’s club in New York. My volunteer
activities stem from a long history in charity that I have maintained
since high school when I organized the first event to commemorate Women’s
History Month inviting influential community members to speak to my peers. In
addition, I spent thousands of hours tutoring students in math and
science, volunteered at three non-profit animal rescues, and also with several
environmental justice organizations. My charitable work and academic
achievements have led to being awarded recognition from several organizations
including Univision’s Orgullo de Nuestra Joventud Scholarship as well as from
the former Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Commissioner Joe
Martinez.

My educational
background has been in Environmental Science/Geology and I am currently a
Science Teacher at an independent middle school in East Harlem, New York. Given my background, I believe that
education is the best tool we can utilize to solve issues pressing our youth
today. Whether it’s improving self-esteem or addressing a global economy, educating our youth is the key to sustainably
establishing our future.

As a contestant in the Miss New
York USA pageant, my platform will emphasize the need for encouraging academic
excellence amongst our youth. I am asking sponsors to support my cause as
well as the amazing opportunity to participate in the Miss New York USA pageant.
